Lakeside Elementary School

Lakeside School is a kindergarten through fifth grade facility with approximately three hundred eighty students.  We pride ourselves on the high level of community involvement.  We have numerous parents who volunteer in classrooms on a weekly basis, as well as  community members who participate in the America Reads Program.  Our soccer field, playground and landscaping were all made possible through the combined efforts of the school PTA, community volunteers and staff from the Somers School District.

Currently we are in the process of implementing a new math program, Math in Focus which is an Americanized version of Singapore Mathematics.  We support early intervention in the area of reading and are proud of our comprehensive leveled resource library.  Somers School District is an active participant in the Northwest Montana Curriculum Cooperative.  Our school and district are progressive in the implementation of technology in the classroom.  Our building is fully networked and all classes have Internet accessibility in addition to a computer lab with all new equipment.  Classrooms at each grade level are equipped with SmartBoards providing an interactive climate for student learning.

In 2010 Lakeside Elementary was named by the Office of Public Instruction as one of three Blue Ribbon Schools in the state as an acknowledgement of the achievement of our students.  We are proud of Lakeside Elementary and we thank you for your interest in our school.
