Kimberly Eisenlohr has been serving on the Somers and Lakeside School Board since May 2022. She is retired after a career that combined work in education, business, and community service. From 1997 to 2000, she worked in the Somers School District as a Title I Reading Aide at Lakeside Elementary and as an aide at Somers Middle School, later continuing as a substitute teacher. After her time in the district, she owned her own housecleaning business and served as the bookkeeper for Ironbird Design, a business her husband, Scott, started in 2007.
Kimberly’s ties to the district run deep. All three of her children attended Somers School District before moving on to Flathead High School, and her grandchildren attended Somers schools until their family moved to District 5 in 2021. She has always loved the public school system and is passionate about schools serving as the center of the community.
When parents voiced concerns about the direction of the district, many encouraged her to run for the school board. With the time and energy to dedicate to service, she stepped forward, motivated by her desire to encourage others and to leave every place better than she found it. She describes herself as a “worker bee” who loves to see a need and fill it, and she especially enjoys volunteering in Mrs. Stern’s first-grade classroom.
In addition to her school board service, Kimberly has a long history of community involvement. She volunteered as an EMT with Lakeside Ambulance, served as Secretary of the West Shore Community Library Board, was active in the Lakeside Somers PTA for many years, and has also served on the Tamarack Woods HOA board.
Outside of her volunteer work, Kimberly enjoys time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who are growing up quickly. In the winter, she enjoys cross-country skiing, while summer finds she rides her e-bike. She and her husband love to travel, camping on dry desert lake beds across the western U.S. while land sailing with their two dogs, Beegees and Ryker.
Kimberly looks forward to continuing her service on the Somers and Lakeside School Board and to supporting the students, staff, families, and community of Somers District 29.
