Student Guidelines

Extra-Curricular Guidelines for Students

  1. At all times demonstrate good sportsmanship and respect your coach, teammates, game officials, opposing coaches, and other players.

  1. Be on time for all practices, participate as required by coaches, and remain in academic and behavioral good standing. Any player who is out of Good Standing three times in the same sport season will not be eligible to finish the season.

  1. All athletes must use appropriate shoes, support devices and/or knee pads when the sport calls for it. Recommendations are extended to eyeglass guards for eye protection.

  2. If a student is injured and unable to participate in any of their classes, including physical education, then they are not able to participate in practices and games until a written doctor's note is turned into the school that clears the student to fully participate in all classes and activities.

  3. Communicate with your coach personally if you have conflicts resulting in the missing of practice or games. Students who do not attend the first week of practices without prior approval of the Activities Director will not be eligible to participate in the season.

  1. Holiday practices are not mandatory.

  1. Students must be in school and at practice and participate in practice the day before a game to be eligible to play in the game, unless excused by a doctor's note through the activities director.

  1. Student cell phones will be collected before the bus leaves the school and will be in the coaches possession. After the players contest is over they will be able to get their phone from the coach/manager.

  1. If unable to participate in a contest, student athletes may sit on the bench at home games dressed in player appropriate clothing.  If it’s an away game, they can sit on the bench but must be transported by a parent if absence is due to disciplinary or academic concerns.

  1. During games and practice, student athletes are to abide by team rules and expectations outlined by the coach. Failure to follow team rules and guidelines can affect participation and playing time.

  1. If a student athlete receives a technical foul or penalty for disrespectful behavior, they will not be allowed to play for the remainder of the contest and will be suspended for the next contest. If it’s of a serious nature, it could result in a suspension of more than one game up to dismissal from the team.
