Somers Lakeside School District 29 is seeking candidates for School Board Trustee positions, both by appointment and through the upcoming school elections in May. Serving on the school board is a meaningful way to support students, staff, and the community while helping guide the future of our schools.
Due to a recent board member moving out of the district, we have an immediate board appointment opportunity available. The Board of Trustees is seeking to appoint a trustee to fill a short-term vacancy for the next few months, through the upcoming election.
Appointment will be made by: Board of Trustees
Meeting date: Wednesday, January 21 @ 6 p.m.
Location: Lakeside

This appointment will only serve until the May election.
Additionally, the state filing window for school board positions is now open and runs from December 11th to February 9th at 4:00 p.m. to appear on the official ballot. Individuals may also file as write-in candidates by March 9 at 4:00 p.m.
Currently, we are seeking candidates for the following positions:
Two different individuals for a three-year term running from May 2026 to May 2029
One person for a one-year vacancy term from May 2026 to May 2027.

Candidates must be registered voters and reside in the Somers Lakeside School District 29.
